Lic. iur. Livio D. Zanetti

Livio D. Zanetti practices in all areas of tax law, with special emphasis on corporate tax law, real estate gains tax as well as inheritance and gift tax law. Additionally, he advises on inheritance law. Livio D. Zanetti is a member of both the Swiss and the Zurich Bar Association and is fluent in German and Italian.

Livio D. Zanetti holds a law degree from the University of Zurich (1985) and practice law since 1988. Between 1989 and 1995, he worked at the Zurich Cantonal Tax Office as a tax commissioner and from 1996 to 2023 he was a partner in a law firm in Zurich specializing in tax law.

Lic. iur. Remo Schmidhauser, LL.M., LL.M. Taxation

Remo Schmidhauser practices in all areas of national and international tax law, with special emphasis on restructurings and real estate gains tax, succession planning, tax criminal law as well as international administrative and legal assistance. He also advises individuals and entities in respect of their FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) and CRS (Common Reporting Standard) requirements. He is a member of both the Swiss and the Zurich Bar Association and is fluent in German and English.

Remo Schmidhauser holds a law degree from the University of St. Gallen (lic.iur. HSG 2000) and was admitted to the bar in 2002. He holds a degree in international business law from the University of Zurich (LL.M. 2006) and a degree in tax law from the Swiss Institute for Tax Law (MAS FH in Taxation/LL.M. Taxation 2012). Prior to joining Zanetti & Schmidhauser Attorneys at Law, he was an associate (2018-2021) and then a partner (2022-2023) of a law firm specialized in tax law in Zurich, a Manager in the tax department of a BigFour (2014-2017), tax counsel at a universal bank (2009-2014), legal counsel at a fiduciary company (2008-2009), prosecutor at the public prosecutor of the canton of St. Gallen (2003 – 2008) as well as trainee and interim clerk at the district court of Sargans (2000-2002).

MLaw Gianfranco Gambaro

Gianfranco Gambaro practises in all areas of tax law, particularly real estate gains tax law, corporate tax law and taxation of private individuals. Gianfranco Gambaro is a member of both the Swiss and Zurich Bar Association. He is fluent in German and English.

Gianfranco Gambaro studied at the University of Zurich (MLaw 2014) and was admitted to the bar in 2019. Before joining Zanetti & Schmidhauser Attorneys-at-Law, he worked for over eight years for the Tax Office of the city of Zurich in the area of real estate gains tax, where he was primarily responsible for establishing practices and coordinating with other tax offices. He is a member of the editorial board of the Zürcher Steuerpraxis, gives regulary lectures on current tax topics and also publishes on these subjects. Finally, in his military role on the military justice staff, Gianfranco Gambaro is responsible for the training and further education of investigating magistrates.
